I prefer the dreamcast version over the over versions mainly for vmu chao garden features. I also personally found the visuals to be slightly more crips via VGA compared to gamecubes version via official component cable. Maybe it was TV/Monitor?

Great graphics and one of the last really good Dreamcast games. A bit rare and pricey so only real Sonic fans need apply.
Sonic Adventure 2. Probably the best Sonic game yet, certainly a must have for the DC! The game is based around Sonic and friends trying to stop Eggman who has taken control of the Space Coloney ARK and is threatening the world's destruction for global dictatorship. Sonic has a new rival, Shadow, whom people mistake for Sonic and cause him to be labelled as a criminal. The game play differs depending on the character you select. Sonic and Shadow's stages are based around speed and certainly, the levels are quick and fast. Tails' and Eggman's stages are more slower pased shooting levels, which altough the lock-on system is usefull, can be hard to lock on to certain enemies, though it's not a massive downside. Rouge nad Knuckle's stages are treasure hunt levels where you must find the peices of the master emerald. There is also a bonus Chao World in which you can raise your own "Chao", little adorable creatures and even transfer them to the VMU and raise them on the go. The Chaos evolve depending on how you treat and care for them and have different evolutions aswell. As this game is one of the best and is much improved over the last and first 3D adventure, Sonic Adventure, it's always considered a must and many people want to grab their own copy. I bought mine as I had already played the GameCube version yet I wanted the original, and I wasn't dissapointed. The game's story is very well written and makes sense and is spread over a long time. What's even nicer is the fact you have two stories to play, light and dark, and both have events unique to each other and join together. This allows for both sides of the story to be told and helps you to understand and enjoy the story further. The acting is much improved and whilst their are slight cavaets, it won't hinder the game by much and you'll still want to play on. The running stages are easy to get used to and can go very fast and with a skilled player you can easily glide through the levels. Even if you master the levels, they can still be fun to just run through due to the speed and smoothness. The shooting stages are slower paced and fit well as you target and shoot through the stages, altough, this can be repetetive and become dull over time, but I suppose it's more preferance than anything. The treasure hunt stages are very nice and can be very challenging especially on subsquent (and somtimes harder) visits. The emeralds aren't always well hidden but they're enough to make you search high and low. The clues also are nice, enough info to give you a hint yet not telling enough to make it too easy. And even with the main story beat, there's tons of missions to do to keep you occupied and the chao which you'll find impossible to master or complete, since it's virtual life. Pros: Excellent story Excellent gameplay styles Good voice casting Great indepth story Replay value is good Excellent virtual life system Cons: Unfortunatly some glitches and bugs can be frustrating, and this isnt an exception Shooter stages might become dull overtime Some bits of acting are off All online features and DLC are gone - This was inevitable but now it's hard to get the best out of the game and cheat devices are almost certainly required.Read full review
