I always wanted one of these Disc- Burner Camcorders to go with my rugged old Canon UC2000 and UC3000 Camcorders. This Camcorder is solid, batteries and Mini- DVD discs are still widely available and I picked up an AV lead for it from E-Bay for pennies. I generally use a Canon Legria Camcorder for filming these days but I always reckon that these earlier machines look more, well, professional... The Camcorder came supplied with a battery, charger and two "double sided" discs, which in EP mode could give two hours filming no problem. The viewfinder and screen are clear, with no blown pixels; the pull out screen is a touch panel, so no fiddly discrete buttons to have to struggle with. Set what you want to do with the Camcorder using the screen and that's it... I love it; definitely one of my favorite toys to play with during this Ludicrous Lockdown piffle. I can go out "exercising" and make wonderful, personal films. The autofocus is always spot on and my LG DVD player can play any of the discs; my AV lead allows me to make VCR backup tapes and the Camcorder will even work with my Computer via a Video- converter to make full size 120mm DVD discs. i can understand why it's called a Handy cam, it is so light and handy to carry about and the fact that It records onto a disc and then I can easily transfer to my dvd recorder is brilliant,I couldn't ask for more.
