However, the company has its roots in much more traditional games, having started life as a playing card manufacturer back in 1889.

Nintendo has introduced a number of innovations in game playing in recent years including:

  • Glasses-Free 3D – which used autosteroscopy to create realistic 3D images on the 3DS and new 3DS
  • Tracking Camera – which monitors the position of your face and rotates the screen to give you the best 3D image on the New 3DS.
