Vacuum pump
Vacuum pumps supply vacuum to a number of solonoids on cars and the solonoids in turn operate parts like egr valves , turbo waste gate , swirl and throttle flaps so is very important that it works correctly. Mine was easy to fit with right tools

Tips on fitting
3 of 3 found this helpful My old gasket was cracked with bits missing so ordered this new one. (Please be sure to get right size) removed old gassed by gentle cutting and you may want to tape off paint work. Clean around base while soaking new seal in hot water to make it slightly stretchy . Stretch over base and start to tuck lip under base using small screw driver .when seated all round it should follow the contour shape getting wider at the very bottom. as it cools it goes back to its firm state so won't move about in order to seal out the weather , job done !!
