Philips Arcitec RQ1085 RQ 1085 Electric shaver
3 of 3 found this helpful I thought it was about time to try an electric shaver instead of my usual gillette blades. As buying blades, shaving foam etc starts to add up over the year, so then it does not seem that much for an electric shaver.
I went for the Philips RQ1085 as it does the same as the RQ1095 apart from the super duper cleaner. I was also looking at cheaper ones with HS series nivea sachets but they are not that cheap to buy & a friend has one & he does not use the sachets so what is the point.
Also the RQ1085 has 3 sets of blades on each head opposed to the 2 heads on the HS8020. I have also found out it is also a lot quieter than the HS8020. I still think the RQ1085 is quiet noisey but I have not seen any other apart from the HS8020.
It does work very well but it does not seem to catch my white/grey hairs as well as I think they are softer & do not stand up as much! The sideburn trimmer is also useful at trimming longer hairs before shaving. The whole shaving head comes off when using the side trimmer.
I like:
The short charge time.
The length of time you can shave on one charge. Over 2 weeks from 1 charge.
Side burn trimmer.
Triple heads & flexible shaving head.
Travel case.
I do not like:
The noise!
The way it does not catch the soft white hairs.

It’s quiet a lot bigger than expected but sturdy.
The clamp to seal the lid is good strong quality clamp.
Lid is strong.
I bought this to use it as a dust cyclone for my machines and it has done the job well and not collapsed as I’ve heard others have done. So it has done what I bought it for and it keeps a good seal so no dust escapes.

Shimano bleed kit
Syringe tip doesn’t fit into brake reservoir so kit doesn’t work.
Syringe tip has large screw in type fitting and it’s too big to fit into reservoir so need to find another syringe or another way to get fluid into reservoir.
Better to buy kit with various nozzles so have better chance of this working.
