Unforgettable
One of the most moving books I've ever read. I read it for the first time years ago and keep coming back. The film version quite disappointing and not true to fact (see link: http://bit.ly/1gZsm2Y ).

Wonderful
Beautiful folk stories, beautifully illustrated. My children love all the Barefoot collection books, so do I (especially the ones with CD's attached).
