In all, good console but the kinect needs to improve
Hi everyone, just a little review for you to mainly tell you the difference between this model and the prvious models. Firstly apart from being both smaller and aesthetically more pleasing on the eye than them previous models (the girlfriend doesn't mind it being on show now)the console is noticeably quieter. Add to this the internal wireless connection to the internet means you have a good little gadget that doesn't take up too much room and looks good. It was my first venture into using the kinect as I have always owned a wii in the past so was extremely interested to see they compared. I'm impressed, but not as much as I would have hoped for as there is still a long way to go with the tec. For one, although a new generation of games are starting to come out now, this could not come quicker as the range of games available is not upto the standard I had expected. also, I would have liked for the voice activated tec to work on other areas of the main xbox screen, so for instance you could ask it to play a film or album you have stored on a memory card! Hopefully this kind of thing can happen in the future via a online download but at present the ability to just go to the Kinect screen and pick a title off there is just not as good as it should be. Hope this helps, and remember if you look around (on ebay), you should be able to pick up both the 250GB console and the Kinect for about £200 + P&P. At this price I would say go for it and if you have an old console either puit that on ebay or trade it in to claw some of your spends back.
