OK for the price
Reception is not as good but work well as MP3 player. The design should have a simple stand.

Product improvement required
In general the product is OK, easy enough to fit. I have the following comments.
1. I feel it's slightly noisier than the last one it seems. I measured the noise level and it registers 62,64 & 66dB for 1,2 & 3 fan setting right underneath the oil filter.
2. The chimney is made of stainless steel and it's very difficult to cut, unless you have a sheet metal shear, which is not in everyone's toolbox. It took almost an hour to cut it to size using a rotary tool. The chimney is mainly for the show, so it doesn't have to have strong required. The manufacturer should consider other materials to make it easier to cut.
3. The 1.5W LED light is not bright enough. They need to have something at least double that.
4. On installation. The advised installation height of 750mm above the worktop of 900mm, it's 1650mm, where my eye level would be. I already raised the level in previous installation. I'd lose a bit of extraction power but it won't cause injury to my eyes.

A value for money machine.
3 of 3 found this helpful A friend has one so I asked him for me to try it out before buying one myself. It's very easy to set up and it gives me hours of entertainment. I did once think that why should I bother when I could listen to the same broadcast via the computer. Then I have to start the computer on everytime if I want to listen to it. The standalone machine would allow me to do it with a push of a button. Although the draw back is that it does not have the variety of options available on the Internet, especially the archived selection as many stations will offer. I suspect the more advanced ones may have more options of choice. Logik IR100 is definitely a value for money product, although it does have this buzzing noise and it is not stereo or surround sound for sure. Other similar products are much more expensive, some are well in excess of £100. I think if I could splash out this amount of money, I might as well buy myself a netbook. It's unfortunate that the LOGIK IR100 is not being manufactured anymore but, like any other gadgets, more advanced products may be available at a lower cost. I actually bought two myself, one used in the kitchen and one in my study. It's a great product and I can't complain.
