EDP48130 - Eduard Photoetch 1:48 - Bucaneer Exterior (Airfix)
19 Oct, 2017
Useful accessory
I have had a 1/48 Buccaneer kit in my stash for years. I decided I should T least try to build it. The kit is a little basic in today's terms so I looked for aftermarket components. One such was this photoetch kit. I haven't actually started the build but after examining the kit I'm sure it will help my Buccaneer spring to life.
AIRFIX A05133 Curtiss Tomahawk MK.II 1:48 Aircraft Model Kit

An excellent kit
I've long wanted to build an accurate 1/48 scale model of the Tomahawk fighter as used by the RAF, particularly one used by II(AC) squadron when they were based at an RAF station (long ago given back to farming) not far from where I live, in the TacR mode. Now I have a suitable kit! Good to confirm it IS accurate and moreover includes a decent representation of the camera carried by this aeroplane in the TacR mode. Well done Airfix.
Nikon D600 24.3MP FX DSLR Body Only (boxed)

Nikon D600 - an excellent camera
I’ve owned a number of Nikon cameras but all have been - or are - ‘cropped’. Having seen examples of full-frame photos taken by fellow members of my camera group I felt it time to try full-frame myself. I was lucky to find a pre-loved example on eBay and plucked up my courage (and money) to buy it. So far I’ve used the D600 only during a long weekend in Norwich so am still learning some of the functionality this camera offers. I am pleased with the results and look forward to learning more about the camera. A lucky choice!
