A cracking option to consider, especially if you shoot and view in direct sunlight. Easy to fit, and provides protection to the screen when folded.

Worth the extra money for peace of mind.
Excellent build quality, with a sleek and unobtrusive design. If you need a 3.5mm to XLR adapter, it makes sense to buy one with phantom power protection incorporated into it's body. The small difference in price between this VXLR+ and the basic straight through model, make it an easy choice to make. There will always be that one time that you forget to switch off the Phantom power, and it will fry your device. At that point, the few extra pounds the VXLR+ cost, would seem trivial. Don't take the chance, buy yourself an extra level of protection this device offers, with the added benefit of allowing mic's that need a 5v feed to function too.
