Hilarious!
2 of 2 found this helpful This is one of the funniest programmes on TV – the wit and banter of the characters and the situations they find themselves in will have you laughing out loud. Glasgow’s ‘Odd Couple’ Jack and Victor, two widowed pensioners, are best of pals. They spend most of their time together and grew up together. They banter back and forth, take the mick out of each other and prop up the bar in the Clansman together, whilst taking the mick out of barman Bobby and scrounging tight fisted Tam. Their pals, Winston (as sharp as they come), Isa (a gossip and social detective) and shopkeeper Navid (witty and game for a laugh) complete the line up. They all live in Craiglang, a run down area of Glasgow. The language is a bit choice but not over the top, and their favourite expression is ‘shut yer hole!’ Great characters, storylines and friendship make this an absolute winner.

A cop fighting his demons
2 of 2 found this helpful Al Pacino dominates this film despite the presence of other top notch talent (Robin Williams, Hilary Swank). He is remarkable and memorable as an ageing LA cop Will Dormer, sent on a temporary homicide assignment to Alaska, where a schoolgirl has been killed. The killer, Walter Finch (Robin Williams), takes advantage of the fact that Alaska has 24 hours sunlight and Dormer is suffering from insomnia, which affects his ability to deal with the situation. Dormer, at first sight the hero cop, turns out to have a whole lot of baggage in the manipulative way he brings people to justice, and it all threatens to overtake him, with Finch taking advantage the whole way. Dormer, trying to squirm out of another situation he creates himself, tries to drop Finch in it, and the two men try to outwit each other. Great performances from the lead three with Robin Williams in a rare role as villain which he pulls off with great skill and a menacing quality. A touching moment at the end where Dormer, who has lost his way in life, tries to stop another cop from doing the same. Great viewing.

laugh a minute
2 of 2 found this helpful Billy Crystal plays a psychiatrist about to marry his girlfriend (Lisa Kudrow from ‘Friends’), when he is chosen by a Mafia boss who is experiencing panic attacks (played by Robert De Niro) to provide psychotherapy. This film will have you laughing out loud, it is very funny and a good film to watch with your feet up, to chill out. Directed by Harold Ramis (Caddyshack, Groundhog Day).
