Plight and Premonition
As an avid David Sylvian admirer, I fall 50/50 on this album. I already have Plight (edit) from Camphor and wondered what the full un-edited experience would offer. Plight is an amazing track - without a doubt - and worth the asking price on its own. For those of you who like drawn out ambient music, by a maestro, then I'm sure Plight and Premonition will not leave you short-changed, however - for those like me - who rate 'Earthbound' 'Damage' and 'The First Day' amongst David's best work, I think this album offers interesting material, at best. Plight is definitely the pick of the two, although the un-edited extended track offers only a little more depth than the un-edited version - in my opinion. (I'm sure the artist would never have allowed an edited version if he thought this corrupted the whole, which seems to qualify my point.) Premonition is for serious devotees only; be warned! I know that many people may disagree with this review, however, as a serious long-term admirer of David's work, I am happy to offer a valid alternative view for those fans who share my palette. Having spent - what seems like a lifetime - singing the merits of David Sylvian's work to people who generally class his work as 'music to slit your wrist to' I would definitely not let my, less than appreciative, friends listen to both tracks on this album. For serious fans and ambient devotees only - in my opinion.

Radiohead - Amnesiac
This album is a work of art. I do not care if people rave and rant about 'the bends' or 'Ok computer' being radiohead's best work. For my money, this is the album that will stand the test of time as the most 'ahead of it's time' piece of audio wizardry ever to hit your ears. For those of you who are not convinced: take time out (you deserve it) sit down quietly somewhere with a drink of choice and lose yourself. I guarantee (so long as you give it a fair hearing in the correct state of mind) that you will truely be transported! 'Pyramid Song' alone is worth the asking price and still rates as one of my favourite tracks by any artist.

Crispian St. peters - Anthology
Having been a long-term fan of Crispian St. Peters classic single track: 'You were on my mind', I was less than inspired by this anthology. Three tracks stand out head and shoulders above the rest for me, in Crispian's reportoire: 'You were on my mind', 'Pied Piper', and 'What I'm goin'a be'. Unfortunately, and remarkeably, the last track is missing from this collection! What remains, is dated at best and downright dreadful at worst. Sorry for the fans out there, but this is not going to inspire anyone other than a serious devotee, or an oldie (like me) who associates this music with a first fling.
