Bosch PST 800 PEL Jigsaw

Why do they do it?
Nice tool spoilt by a stupid positioned hook blocking your view of the cutting edge. Can be cut off to get rid of it or by unscrewing the case screw and removing it. Steel base platform was poorly finished and badly marked the Timber face even after using tape to protect it. I filed and rubbed down the offending sharp edges. The blower really is a gimmick it dies very little when cutting deep sheet materials where large amounts of swarf is being produced. But the tool cut well was easy to control and more importantly it cut square once set up and screwed securely. Really weird use of a cheese head screw with a chisel groove and not a hex head set screw of allen head. Overall not bad for a plastic DIY tool.

Belkin N300 Wall Plug Mounted Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender/Wireless Signal Boo

Another excellent Belkin product
My wifi gets as far as the kitchen door then gives up and I often would like to take my iPad into the garage when ordering things and looking at technical diagrams. This Belkin device was plugged into the kitchen and after a few minutes where the iPad sorted the connection with a few taps on the screen I can now get internet through out the garden, conservatory, garage and shed. It's very small and slim so looks just like a plug with a blue glow which my wife says is attractive at night going into the dark kitchen !! I don't notice any drop in speed and can perform all the tasks I need through the device like print, email, and down/up loads. Can't fault it. Much cheaper than BTs one I just hope it lasts. Time will tell.
TRANGIA SPIRIT BURNER WITH SCREW CAP (B25)

China or Trangia
This is a case of China or Trangia, I have no idea where the Trangia spirit burner is made. I have been involved in metal work my whole life and when you hold feel and use the fake Trangia it becomes obvious the brass used is thinner and in some cases it's what's called brassed steel which eventually rusts and leaked. The originals look like they are spun brass and of a thickness which will last. Finished nicely with sharp edges removed and a smooth riveted sliding lid. Personally I think they are worth the extra money to buy when compared to cheaper copies. Call me old fashioned but it worries me as we (uk) become totally reliant on industrial produced metal goods from China, just because they are cheap. Not better quality, longer lasting or more efficient just cheaper. You pay for quality and more often and not it lasts longer. The European manufactured Trangia is far superior and worth the extra money.
