  • Victorian Jackfield Teapot Hand Painted Floral and Gilt Decoration Hinged Lid

A handsome rare Victorian antique Jackfield teapot, with an hinged lid and a metal tip on the spout. Beautifully decorated with hand painted daisy, aster type flowers, on a green background (on the upper part), and lots of gilding. In very good antique condition, some wear to the gilding, a few minor marks on the green background paint, nothing serious, there are some small pin holes in some of the flowers, I think that's because this is oil paint and not enamel, see the photo's. Oil paint was used to decorate Jackfield teapots in the mid to late 1700's so this may be earlier, I can't say for definite. Measures approximately 28 cm (11 inch) from the handle to the tip of the spout.
