Firepits and Chimeneas

Gardens and patios are wonderful extensions to your home. In the summer months, they provide additional space for relaxing and socialising but tend to be used less and less as temperatures begin to drop. Outdoor heating allows you to sit outside and feel warm and cosy no matter what the weather. While being functional sources of heat, firepits and chimeneas can also add character and provide a focal point for your outdoor space, allowing you to enjoy your garden space all year round with friends and family.

Whatever your taste, you'll find thousands of new and used firepits and chimeneas in a variety of shapes and designs. Choose from popular brands such as La Hacienda, Gardeco, Kingfisher and Outsunny.

Firepits

Firepits are slightly more commonplace than chimeneas and are typically bowl or barrel-shaped. You'll find styles in a variety of sizes measuring from around 24 to 40 inches in steel, copper and stone. With a grate placed over the top, firepits can be used for BBQs and, unlike chimeneas, warmth can be felt from all sides.

Chimeneas

The word “chimenea” comes from the Spanish word for chimney and describes the heater's tall chimney design. This eye-catching design features an open fire bowl and a contained chimney that extracts the smoke away from the fire and up into the air.

Traditional Mexican chimeneas are made from clay and terracotta and are hand decorated. Cast iron and steel models are also available and are capable of burning charcoal and wood, while only dry wood can be used in clay chimeneas.

While all types of chimenea are safe for outdoor use, metal varieties are safer for those with children as they typically come with protective grates or doors over the fire. Whether you choose a firepit or chimenea, you'll find a range of styles that are low maintenance.
