A GoPro is an HD-quality waterproof, shockproof video recording camera. Small and compact, it is capable of delivering very clear videos. It can be used in any type of environment or conditions, from climbing to skateboarding, plus water sports.
There are three versions of the GoPro video camera - the original GoPro Hero 1, the GoPro Hero 2 and the most recent release, the GoPro Hero 3.
The GoPro Hero 3 is available in three different editions. The white edition has a camera that shoots 1080p30, 960p30 and 720p60 frames per second with a 5-megapixel camera that takes photo bursts of three frames per second.
The silver edition shoots at 1080p30, 960p48 and 720p60 frames per second, with an 11-megapixel camera that takes photo bursts of ten frames per second. The black edition shoots at 1080p60, 720p120, 1440p48, 4kp15, 2.7kp30 and WVGA-240 frames per second. It has a 12-megapixel camera and can take photo bursts of up to 30 frames per second, which is cinema-quality video but in frames.
All versions of the GoPro camera feature built-in WiFi for easy sharing and uploading of recorded videos. They all have a universal remote that can control the GoPro's functions.
There are a range of accessories available for the GoPro range of cameras, including camera mounts, memory cards, a battery BacPac, wall charger, auto charger, anti-fog inserts, combo cables , microphone adapter and a device called a Floaty which, when attached to the back of the GroPro Hero 3 video camera, acts as a flotation device.
