Hoya Clear Protector Lens Filter

Hoya are a long established name within the photography industry. With their origins in Japan since 1941, they are among the leading manufacturers of lens filters for professional grade cameras. As well as premium grade lenses, Hoya produce a range of high quality protectors, including a Hoya clear protector lens filter to ensure you keep all your delicate lenses safe as you transport them around.

Types available

Pro 1 filter is designed for high end optics. Featuring an exceptionally slim design, Pro 1 filter has a glass thickness of only 1mm, whilst the front of the filter contains a number of threads that can accommodate further filters or even a camera lens hood . The Pro 1 has been carefully designed not to affect the colour balance of your camera lenses . Innovative and multi coated digital filters are designed to reduce the common photography problems of lens flare and ghosting, which are caused by reflections. The frame used on the filter is of an ultra low profile, which mitigates against vignetting on a wide angle camera lens .

HD filters

Hoya HD filters feature exceptionally clear glass with high transparency optical glass which has been enhanced to make the glass four times stronger than traditional glass lenses. They also come with an eight layer anti-reflective multi coating, protecting against water and oil spillage, and offers resistance against stains and scratches. Furthermore, the HD frame is a wide angle lens that works well with Hoya ultra thin frames.

Special effects

Hoya also produce a range of special effect filters. These filters include the FOG A and FOG B lens filters that are designed to produce the effect of dense fog. It does this by adding a light layer of white over the entire picture. FOG B will create a denser appearance of fog, however both these filters may be used together. Another special effects filter from HOYA is the STAR-6. This filter adds a six point flare to areas of the picture that are especially bright. This type of filter is particularly well suited to photographs containing objects which you may want to give a particularly bright appearance to, such as jewellery.
