Job too small for a regular digger? Mini and micro diggers are designed specifically to make light work of back-breaking manual labour in a variety of small to medium-sized working environments.
Mini Diggers
Also called compact excavators or mini excavators, mini diggers come with a range of attachments for digging and demolition work. These include buckets of various sizes, augers, compaction wheels, compactor plates and rippers. Mini diggers have wheels for working on solid surfaces and metal or rubber tracks for coping with rough terrain. Their cabs rotate with the digging arm and so operating a mini digger will require some training.
Micro Diggers
Smaller than mini diggers, micro diggers (also known as micro excavators) are perfectly suited for the most restricted working areas. In fact, they are designed to fit through doorways and gates and operate best in small rooms, gardens and other diminutive sites. Like mini diggers, micro diggers dramatically reduce time and manpower on the job and are favourites with landscapers, redevelopers, grounds care operators and avid DIYers.
Spare Parts and Replacements
Existing owners of mini and micro diggers will appreciate a large listing of spare parts from all key manufacturers including JCB, Bobcat, Kubota, Komatsu, CAT, Case and more. If a spare part cannot be found, the alternative is to look for older mini and micro diggers that are being offered for breakage.
Before using a mini or micro digger it's imperative that you have full training and a working understanding of how to safely use these machines. Whilst mini and micro diggers are far smaller than standard diggers, they still weigh a tonne or more and can be highly dangerous if not used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Take all of the standard safety precautions before using a mini or micro digger and ensure anyone piloting one has the correct licences.
