Mobile and Smartphones

Essential for modern day life, mobile and smartphones work to keep you connected at all times whilst offering the most useful of features. While the first generation of mobile phones were used mainly for calling people, modern day smartphones, including the  Galaxy S8  and HTC U11, feature various technologies and apps to enhance the user’s experience and increase connectivity. In addition to the standard messaging and calling services, many phones advanced features to keep you connected at all times. With the ability to download apps such as Twitter, Facebook, and Skype, you can be in constant contact with friends whilst listening to your favourite song or making a call. Staying connected has never been this easy. Most modern smartphones feature 3G and/or 4G functionality, letting you connect to the internet via your mobile network. If you run out of mobile data, another way to connect to the internet is through WiFi, a standard feature with most modern smartphones. Bluetooth connectivity is usually included with both mobile and smartphones, letting you connect with other smartphones and compatible devices to send files, play music or stream movies. Most mobile and smartphones let you store and listen to your favourite songs on the go. Streaming apps like Spotify and Soundcloud give you access to an extensive library of songs without having to actually download them, saving storage space.

Types of Mobiles and Smartphones

Mobiles from BlackBerry and Nokia give you some of the basic functionalities of a phone, including SMS messaging and phone calls, whilst more advanced models from Samsung feature an edgeless touch screen display. The Nokia 3310, for example, is a reissue of the classic mobile phone from 2000. The Pixel is Google’s very own smartphone and runs on Android, one of the most widely used operating systems. Another popular smartphone range comes from Apple. The latest in this line includes the  iPhone 8  (the successor to the  iPhone 7  ) and the totally reinvented  iPhone X  . The edge-to-edge design of the new iPhone X is a first for Apple’s range of smartphones.
