PENTAX Teleconverter Camera Lens

Increase your focal image length with a PENTAX teleconverter camera lens, which offers extra magnification to allow you to zoom further than a standard camera and lens.

PENTAX is a part of Ricoh Imaging Europe, who produce a wide range of cameras , lenses and accessories with high performance designs. They produce a broad choice of lens types to add versatility to your photography. Each type of lens adds a new level of distinction to your imagery.

Teleconverters

Teleconverter lenses allow you to focus and enhance details that are far away, adding extra focal range to your camera. They are ideal lenses for landscape or wildlife photography as they allow tiny details to appear larger in the image, drawing focus.

You can tighten the frame and narrow the focus on an animal without having to get closer, allowing additional detail than a lens alone. To use a teleconverter lens, it needs to be used between the camera and the primary lens, allowing it to magnify the image.

For instance, using a teleconverter lens with a macro lens for wildlife photography will allow you to see the finer details of the wildlife from a safe distance.

Lens compatibility

As teleconverter lenses need to be used in addition to primary lenses, you need to ensure that they are compatible for use with each other. Some are often designed to be able to work with more than one lens at a time but this can compromise certain qualities and sharpness.

Most wide angle and standard lenses do not work well with teleconverters as they are designed to magnify and add focal length. However, macro lenses often pair well with teleconverter lenses, adding quality to the image. Although the teleconverter lenses are designed to exceed maximum focus distance, they do not affect or damage the minimum focus distance.

It is worth noting that almost all teleconverter lenses will only work in conjunction with other lenses and bodies from the same manufacturer.
