Tibor Fly Fishing Reels
Along with a rod , line and lure, a suitable reel is an important piece of fly fishing equipment . Tibor fly fishing reels are available in a variety of models and sizes. all of which are designed to handle a range of angling environments and different types of fish.
Choosing a reel
When selecting a reel to add to your tackle collection it is important to consider the type of fly fishing it will be used for. The reels in the Billy Pate range from Tibor are named after some of the fish they are designed to catch. The Salmon, Bonefish and Tarpon models feature a picture of the fish on the reel, although they can also be used for other types of fish.
With their anti-reverse design, these reels are made from solid bar stock aluminium with a Delrin handle for grip and durability. They incorporate double clickers to indicate whether the line is leaving or entering the spool.
Tibor Reels
The Tibor Reels range includes Everglades, Riptide, Gulfstream and Pacific. Featuring a large design arbour to enable faster line retrieval, these lightweight reels were launched in 1995. They incorporate a hard-coated aluminium main gear for strength which rotates on ceramic ball bearings.
Drag is provided by an impregnated cork drag disc, while the perforated spool and drum help to keep the reel cool. The models in the Tibor Reels range are available in several finishes, including frost silver, jet black, royal blue and satin gold.
Signature Series Reels
Tibor's Signature Series Reels are available in five sizes. They range from the Signature 5-6 which weighs 7 oz to the Signature 11-12 at 13.6 oz. The reels feature a completely ventilated spool and frame plus an incoming and outgoing clicker sound.
Reels can be switched simply from right hand to left hand retrieval thanks to the mechanical clutch system. They also feature Tibor's QuickChange spool system and a waterproof sealed drag system. The Signature Series of reels come in a variety of finishes and hub colours.
Tibor Light Reels
The Tibor Light Reels range is available in three sizes - the Spring Creek, Tail Water and Back Country. The reels incorporate the ConstaLube system which offers a smoother drag by employing a special felt and lubricant. They can be used with 3-8 weight rods and are suitable for either fresh or saltwater fishing.
Available in a range of finishes, the Tibor Light series is constructed with few parts to enhance durability. The line is monitored with a clicker and the spool is easy to remove. Extra spools are also available.
