Old Charm

Old Charm is a furniture brand produced by the company Wood Bros of Ware. Created by Herbert Wood, the concept of the range is to create furniture that will appreciate with age, both financially and aesthetically.

The Old Charm Collection

The Old Charm collection covers an extensive range of Tudor reproduction furniture made from solid wood, usually oak, with a choice of light oak, Tudor brown or vintage finishes. It is all craftsman built, with traditional dovetail joints, and created to last for many years.

Old Charm furniture includes many traditional pieces, such as tall boy dressers, solid wood bookcases, display cases and chairs and tables, along with classic writing bureaux and cocktail cabinets from a bygone era.

Old Charm, Modern Use

The collection has also moved with the times to produce modern furniture. CD, DVD racks and television stands combine an authentic Old Charm quality with practical features for modern day technology.

Built as solid substantial pieces, there is no self-assembly and no flat-pack instructions with Old Charm furniture, and so you will need a large van and some strong friends to collect the larger pieces. That said there are some clever tricks built into their design to make them easier to move, such as detachable tops on dressers, and bookcases that split into two parts.

An Old Charm Home

From a small hall table to greet your guests, to a full suite of fine furniture for your lounge or dining room, Old Charm can add an authentic finishing touch to any period property. Alternatively, for a more modern home, you'll find there are many Old Charm pieces that have been ‘up-cycled' to give them a shabby chic finish, with Quaker-style creams, greys and blues picking out the details of their intricate carvings and mouldings.

In a world of cheap and cheerful furniture, the Wood Bros. Old Charm range proves that they do still make them like they used to, you just have to know where to look.
