Manfrotto Fluid Head Tripod

A tripod frame has telescopic legs and a mounting head that is used to stabilise or elevate a camera, flash unit or other equipment. Tripods are usually manufactured from aluminium, carbon fibre or plastic, meaning they are light and portable.

They are used for motion and still photography to prevent camera shake or movement, which could result in blurred photos. Tripods are also useful for using low shutter speeds, or when extreme focal length lenses are attached to the camera, to keep the setup balanced.

The Manfrotto range of tripods are suited for use with the head kits, but can also be used with other tripods. A fluid head provides better flexibility and ease of use.

Features of a Manfrotto fluid head tripod

A fluid head tripod has a flat base with a lightweight head and large platform base. The side lock system allows the camera and the sliding Quick Release (QR) plate to click quickly into the head without having to be aligned and fitted from the rear of the tripod.

The range of Manfrotto tripods with fluid heads have pre-set counterbalances and are able to support equipment up to a certain weight, depending on the tripod selected. The Manfrotto 500 tripod has an Easy Link 3/8" connector for an external monitor and other accessories to be fixed.

The 128RC model is lightweight with a pan bar with fluid movement and a tilt lock. For photographers that want to shoot videos, the XPRO tripod is suitable as it provides a constant smooth movement and has a fluidity selector to switch between hard and soft fluidity according to which speed of tilt movement is needed, and the gear being used. It has an Adapto Technopolymer and aluminium body that makes is light and easy to carry. The panoramic rotation is 360° and it has a quick release plate type with screw thread.
