Diecast Horse-Drawn Vehicles, Parts & Accessories

Horse Drawn Diecast Vehicles

Many styles of horse drawn vehicles and horse drawn carriages are produced as diecast models. Horse drawn diecast vehicles are replicas of their 'real world' counterparts, enjoyed by children as toys and by enthusiasts as diecast collectable items.

Because diecast vehicles are long lasting and have a vintage quality, they are often produced to celebrate special occasions. A number of diecast horse drawn carriages have been produced in celebration of the British Queen's coronation and jubilees. Corgi's 1902 State Landau depicts the Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977 and is built to an approximate scale of 1:32, featuring miniature figures of the Queen and Prince Philip.

Other subsequent jubilees and royal weddings have also been celebrated by Corgi, with collectible editions of diecast horse drawn vehicles.

These diecast horse drawn carriages were made at Lledo's toy making factory in Enfield, England.

Diecast horse and carriage toys

Diecast toys and models are usually made from the non-ferrous metal zinc. Other non-ferrous metals are also sometimes used and these include copper, aluminium and magnesium. The metal's temperature is raised to 450 degrees centigrade so that it melts and it is then used in liquid form to fill the moulds of the model being created.

To create the detailed look of diecast horse and carriage toys, other details are added using parts made from plastic, rubber, other metals and glass.
