Marin Bikes

Mountain biking is ideal for thrill seekers, adrenaline junkies and for those who just want to keep fit. The rush of going down mountains, steep terrain and through puddles of mud cannot be compared to any other form of bicycle racing and Marin specialise in making bikes that are suited to cross country, downhill racing and even trials.

Trail Bikes

Marin trail bikes usually have a suspension travel of between 120-140mm. They are suited to downhill descents and uphill climbs. The tube angle is usually between 67-69 degrees. The steeper the tube angle, the faster the bike will turn and climb. A lower tube angle essentially means that the bike will be more stable but won't climb as well. Marin trail bikes are available in a huge range of colours and sizes to suit the needs of every rider.

Cross-Country Bikes

Marin cross-country bikes are intended for riding fast. Cross-country bikes tend to focus on being light and very energy efficient in terms of pedal to power. These bikes are ideal for competitive racing and are also ideal for trail riding. Cross-country bikes by Marin have 80-100mm of suspension and the tube angle is usually 70-71 degrees.

Downhill Bikes

Downhill bikes are big and very durable. Riders will usually wear full-face helmets when riding them. It is also not uncommon to see someone wearing full-body armour as well. Downhill bikes are made for jumping, rock gardens, ladders and berms. These bikes are also used for stunts, dangerous riding and risky terrain. They usually have a suspension of around 170-200mm. The tube angle is between 63 and 65 degrees, however, this depends on the style of bike that you buy and the size of wheel as well.

Marin bikes are also available with different wheel sizes. Bigger wheels are harder to gain momentum with but when the momentum has been achieved, it is easy to keep the bike rolling. For this reason, smaller bike wheels are more popular with Marin mountain bikes.
