• Size: Men's costumes are sized according to the chest and/or leg sizes while women's costumes are given in dress sizes (usually 8-20).

In the 1940s, men's hairstyles tended to be short, and the hair was often greased back off the forehead. For women, hair was curled and perfectly-styled.
