Motorcycles with sidecars can be used to carry both people and items, and they are great fun to take out on jaunts and to racing events. Whatever the use you may have in mind, you can find affordable, used motorbikes and sidecars for sale easily on eBay.

A motorcycle with a sidecar is a three-wheeled vehicle with a side wheel that is off to the side and not aligned with the rear wheel. The motorbike is usually powered by the rear wheel alone, but it can also be powered by a two-wheel-drive configuration, such as the Ural sidecar. The sidecar has a frame and a body, with the frame affixed to the bike or attached more flexibly. The body will typically have one passenger seat and a small trunk compartment. The body may have a removable soft top.

New and used sidecars for sale in the UK come in a variety of styles but are classed into four main groups. These are the types you will commonly find:

• Saloon sidecars - These are the ultimate in sidecars. They are enclosed and quite large, and they are very comfortable. These are most often found as vintage sidecars, but there are also some more recent models available.
• Sports Sidecars - These are the most common types of sidecars in use. They are mostly single-seat cars with open top chairs. They are lightweight and may have a boot or other storage area, and they sometimes have screens and fabric roofs for adverse weather. They are often used in racing events with motorcycles.
• Military - These sidecars are tough and rugged. They are constructed of steel and are fairly heavy. Comfort is not a priority, but versatility and durability are important. They often come with accessories like external fuel tanks, spotlights, machine gun mountings, and other military features. They can be used by the military or for personal use.
• Custom builds - You can have a customised sidecar built to your specifications. You can build it from scratch or purchase a chassis and add your own bodywork.
