Other items to check are the gas and electric supply, and any bodywork leaks.

• Remove all bedding, cushions and curtains to be washed and stored.
• Empty all cupboards, and that check hinges and catches are tight and operating correctly. Check all window hinges, seals, and that locks are working. Close and lock all windows, but leave cupboard doors open.
• Empty and wipe the fridge, switch it off and leave the fridge door open.
• Clean and flush through the water system with sterilising fluid.
• Disconnect gas and electrical supplies.
