Keyboard Instrument Stools & Benches

Keyboard Instrument Stools and Benches

As any musician who spends long hours at a keyboard will tell you, keyboard instrument stools and benches are just as important as the instrument itself. Instrumental success comes at the cost of hours of practice. It is far better to spend those hours in a comfortable seat than it is to suffer on a stool or bench that is not designed for that purpose.

Keyboard stools and benches are usually arranged by brand rather than by measurement. Although there are many makes like Tiger, Roland and Yamaha stools and benches , but to name a few, there are also many unbranded keyboard stools available on the market. Some stools and benches even contain a hidden grid for extra storage.

One of the biggest things to look for is its adjustability and its strength, especially if the person using the instrument is young or if the keyboard or piano will be used by numerous people, for example by the whole family.

Some keyboard stools and benches do not adjust, such as those for professionals or grown adults. These are still good value for money, as long as attention is paid to your posture and you can sit comfortably without getting back pain.

The type of padding is an important factor in deciding which keyboard stool or bench to purchase. For the occasional practitioner, a polished wooden stool will suffice and will still be an attractive piece of furniture while not in use. Extra padding is necessary for someone using the keyboard or piano frequently, which is normally found in leather or fabric seats.

As a non-necessary but pleasant extra, try to ensure that your keyboard stool or bench matches your instrument, as it will provide a more pleasing appearance when not in use. It will give your set charisma and add character to the rest of the room.
