Recording King Acoustic Guitars

An American company, Recording King Acoustic Guitars is one of the oldest guitar manufacturers, dating back to the 1930s.

Their original guitar model was not unlike a Gibson Advanced Jumbo acoustic shape - a large bodied guitar with a rounded, ringing tone.

Aside from acoustic guitars, Recording King produce steel guitars, banjosand lap resonators. Often featuring a solid mahogany body and a stunning sound quality, these professional instruments sell at the high-end of the price spectrum, although pre-owned instruments are also available and will cost less.

Recording King’s ‘Dreadnought’ is a premium acoustic guitar with a traditional body shape, favoured by singer/songwriters in the blues, country and folk music genres such as John Fahey and bluegrass musician Lizzy Long.

How to look after your Recording King Acoustic Guitar

Hollow bodied guitars require much the same care and attention as their solid bodied counterpart, the main difference being they’re far less angular and may travel quite safely in a soft guitar case.

If you intend to transport your Recording King Guitar on a regular basis however, a solid carry case will keep it protected from wear and tear and any damage from drops and scrapes. A standard case should fit most models.

To maintain a good sound from your Recording King guitar, you’ll get optimal tone by using extra light gauge bronze strings, which range in price depending on the name of the brand.
