What are electric guitars?

Electric guitarsare easily one of the most famous instruments ever, spawning the genres of rock, metal, electric blues and rock ‘n’ roll as well as many others.

They were originally designed to be loud enough via an amplifierto enable guitarists to play in big band ensembles without being drowned out.

Why choose Tom Anderson electric guitars?

The exceptional build quality of Tom Anderson guitars makes them a wise investment:

  • Materials - Select lumber mills are used to source the most fine and beautiful woods available, matched in grain to carefully normalise reverberation characteristics across the range
  • CAD - The adoption of modern CAD (computer aided design) practices allows them to produce guitars with exact precision and tolerances, in which they remain a market leader
  • Hand-finished - All guitars are hand finished with fine detail woodwork and beautiful finish sanding by a master before completion
  • Pickups - All pickups found on Tom Anderson guitars are both designed and wound in their pickup shop in California for optimal tone
  • Paint - Paint jobs on all of the guitars made by Tom Anderson Guitarworks are done using a revolutionary new ultra violet light curing process unique to them. It prevents the paint from affecting both the tonal potential and characteristics of the guitar from being inhibited, whilst also allowing for a clear and beautiful paint job that can make the guitar really stand out
  • Built to order - Tom Anderson guitars are not mass produced. They make around eight to nine hundred guitars each year, all of which are made to order and are tested thoroughly before being dispatched
