About Amcor Dehumidifier
Amcor dehumidifiers have been made for over 60 years for the domestic and commercial markets and include wall-mounted and portable versions, with the wall-mounted versions handy if you need to draw moisture from a particular area of a room. They range in size from 8.5 to 30 litres.
Excessive moisture can work its way into the fabric of a building, creating an ideal breeding ground for dust mites, fungi and mould, while the environment becomes clammy and uncomfortable and there can be damage to paint, wallpaper and electrical equipment. Equally, allergies to dust mites and mould can be triggered.
Dehumidifiers draw extra moisture from the atmosphere ? usually by a fan which draws air over two sets of coils, one warm and one cooler, and squeezing water into a tank which is emptied when it?s full.
Another kind of dehumidifier, the desiccant type, has a material to absorb moisture and release it into the tank for emptying. To get the most out of your dehumidifier, run a vacuum cleaner around first so you don?t clog up the air filter. Place your dehumidifier away from furniture, curtains and walls and shut windows and doors ? equally, clean the air filter regularly.
When it comes to choosing your dehumidifier, look for energy efficiency, noise, whether it will turn off straight away if the tank is full and if it has frost control to stop it freezing up while it?s being used. Some measure humidity during operation, and change settings automatically to keep a room at the right humidity level ?aim for between 30% and 50% humidity.
