About Apple iPad Mini Cases
The iPad mini is a tablet computer made by Apple. The first mini, released in 2012, was a smaller version if the iPad 2 and came in an alternative version designed also to be used as a telephone. It also features two cameras. The second generation was the same size, but had a new Retina display and enhanced e-book functionality.
The Smart Cover, first introduced with the iPad2 and since made available for the mini, is a magnetic polyurethane screen cover which converts into a stand and features a microfibre lining to clean the screen. The 'smart' aspect of the Smart Cover is that it also automatically wakes up the iPad when it's removed. This authorised cover comes in six colours.
There are many other designs of case or cover entirely suitable for protecting your iPad mini. A simple 7" tablet pouch made of shock-proof neoprene will effectively prevent damage that might otherwise be caused by knocks and scratches while it's in your bag, and you may even be able to buy one customised with your own design.
There are many fine folio-style cases also manufactured to be particularly suitable for an iPad mini, and these come in a range of clever convertible designs. You should be able to choose from a range of fabrics such as gel silicone or PU leather in many colours and patterns.
A generic 7" tablet case may fit the iPad mini well, but will not usually feature a hole allowing the rear camera to be used while the case is still on.
