About Arco Lamp
The Arco lamp is a simple, yet beautifully elegant design that is guaranteed to make an impact in your home.
Originally designed in 1962 by Achille Castilioni and his brother, the lamp quickly became recognised as a convenient yet stylish way to bring light to a room. The lamp itself was inspired by a simple streetlight design, and allows an entire room to be illuminated using just one lamp.
The first Arco design actually weighed over 70 pounds, but was easy to manoeuvre thanks to a small hole that was big enough for a broom handle, enabling you to lift the floor lamp anywhere it was needed without ever having to pick it up. The height could be adjusted with a swivel, which also helped to control the amount of light required.
The biggest benefit of an Arco floor lamp is that it is so versatile and powerful - you can pretty much place it anywhere in your home and the whole area will be illuminated. Some Arco lamps now come with a dimming feature to control how much light your lamp provides.
Often now described as 'retro style', the design of the Arco lamp is very space-friendly, and will not be a hindrance by taking up too much room. Perfect for a lounge or dining area, these lamps will add a stylish yet practical touch to your home.
Smaller versions of the Arco lamp can work well in the bedroom and are suitable for tables, dressers or nightstands.
