About Children in Need T Shirts
Children in Need was established by the BBC in 1980 and has continued annually as a charitable campaign. A part of the fundraising includes sale of merchandise that features the iconic Children in Need branding.
Over the years, many t-shirt designs, for adults and children, men as well as women, have been created to suit the different campaigns. Every year the campaign is tweaked slightly to bring a fresh twist on the previous year.
Many designs feature the Children in Need mascot, named Pudsey bear. This is an illustration of a yellow coloured bear who is wearing a multi colour polka dotted bandage over his left eye.
A popular design features Pudsey seated on blocks spelling out the words ?Children in Need? in an iconic image from the nineties. Others show the same but with the UK?s regional flags in the background, for example the Welsh dragon or the Scottish Saltire.
Pudsey is also often shown juggling multi coloured balls in an image which came about during the 2000s. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Children in Need a range of ?Party with Pudsey? t-shirts were produced; these are black with Pudsey bear printed on the front in metallic gold lines.
There are ranges of Children in Need t-shirts which have been designed with the help of celebrity supporters. These do not have the branded imagery but show a reference to the cause within their design. For example the George Michael t-shirt shows a set of headphones printed at the neckline and features the text ?show your spots, let?s raise lots?.
