About Dewalt 18V Impact Drivers

DeWalt is a world leader in the design and manufacture of power tools. Established in 1936 they are now part of the Stanley Black & Decker Group and have a reputation for build quality, durability and technical innovation. The DeWalt 18V impact driver can be used for both drilling and screwing purposes. The impact or hammer action delivers both rotational and downward force in a sharp and sudden motion to achieve the desired outcome. They can be used for drilling in masonry, removing corroded or over tightened bolts, or as a traditional drill or screwdriver with the impact function turned off. DeWalt 18V impact drivers are powered by an 18V rechargeable Li-ion battery. DeWalt has developed this battery to deliver a longer run time than other rechargeable batteries and tests have shown them to be up to 40% longer lasting. Some of the impact drivers in the range will have different speed settings for tougher jobs and most of them with have a single or multi LED lights around the rim of the driver for enhanced visibility when in use. The bit holder is magnetised to help prevent slipping or losing the bit and the handle is encased in rubber to reduce vibration and user fatigue. All of the impact drivers in the DeWalt 18V range are able to reverse the rotation for screwing and unscrewing and will have a belt hook for easier carrying. There is a quick release mechanism on the bit holder for faster changes and the compact nature of the products mean it is able to operate in confined or hard to reach places.
