About Powerflushing Machines
A powerflushing machine is used to clean central heating systems and is common equipment that is used in the heating trade. The machine removes debris from the system by flushing water through it at high velocity. This cleans the system, restores circulation and makes it more efficient. This process is commonly known as power flushing, jet flushing or hard flushing.
Heating system problems
When radiators rust internally they produce black sludge that is created by corrosion and deposits of debris. This causes the heating system to become less efficient and eventually results in radiator failure and leaks. The problem in circulation can also cause boiler noise problems and sometimes boiler failure. These problems can be improved and the heating system can be restored and cleaned using a powerflushing machine.
Powerflushing machines have been designed to give the correct water flow rate to flush out the system without high pressure that could cause internal damage. Corrosion inhibitor is usually added to the water in the heating system before the power flush begins. The inhibitor begins to clean the water and loosen rust inside the radiators. The machine is connected to the heating system via one of the radiators and, when turned on, begins to flush clean water through the system. This process cleans the system by removing the sludge from the radiators. The contaminated water is flushed out of the system through a valve and deposited into a drain. This process reduces heating bills and improves the warmth within the home.
