As a global marketplace, eBay enables our business sellers to comply with this Directive. To do so, business sellers who are offering certain electronic devices for sale in the EU and Northern Ireland markets for the first time must:
- Only offer electronic devices that have a USB-C port
- Offer the option to buy the electronic device without a charger, if it is being offered for sale with a charger
- Display a pictogram and label on their listings
This applies to new products, and used products if they were placed in the EU and Northern Ireland markets for the first time after 28 December, 2024. Listings that do not meet these standards may be hidden until the required information is added.

Pictogram and label
If you’re a business seller offering relevant electronic devices for sale on the EU and Northern Ireland markets, the following labelling will need to be displayed on your listings, near to the price:
- A pictogram, explaining if charging equipment is included or not
- A label, indicating the power range in Watts needed to recharge the device, and if the electronic device supports USB-PD (fast charging)
When you create new listings or revise existing listings, the correct item specifics can be included to allow the pictogram and label to be displayed.
Here's how the pictogram can be added to your listing:
- Create a new listing or revise an existing listing.
- Go to Additional Item Specifics and go to the Charger included section.
- Select Yes if your listing includes a charger
- Select No if your listing doesn’t include a charger
Here's how the label can be added to your listing:
- Create a new listing or revise an existing listing.
- Go to Additional Item Specifics and go to Device charging range.
- Indicate the Device charging range in Watts, with minimum and maximum values.
- The wattage range required to charge your device will include up to 3 digits per value, with a maximum of 1 decimal (e.g., 1, 1.2, 12, 12.3, 123)
- Select USB-PD (Fast charging) in the Features dropdown if the device is fast charging compatible.
