Compilations of information policy

Compilations of information or media need to follow our rules and be listed in the Everything Else > Information Products category using the Classified Ad format.

Compilations may contain a broad range of informational or media resources such as eBooks, templates, images, screensavers, and any other type of printed information or  electronic file.

What is the policy?

  • Compilations of information or media must be listed in the Everything Else > Information Products category using the Classified Ad format. This includes a broad range of informational or media resources such as eBooks, templates, images, screensavers, and any other type of printed information or electronic file
  • Compilations containing media such as eBooks need to include all titles in the listing
  • Compilations aren't allowed when:
    • They are Included as a “Bonus” in the sale of another product
    • They are listed with unrelated keywords meant to unfairly affect search result visibility
    • They contain celebrity media, such as photos

Activity that doesn't follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or cancelling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, and account suspension. All fees paid or payable in relation to listings or accounts on which we take any action will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account.

Tip

Why does eBay have this policy?

This policy ensures that compilations of information are listed in the appropriate category so buyers know what they're buying and can also be confident of their search results.
