eBay Seller Capital

If you're a business seller, you may be eligible to receive financing through eBay Seller Capital to help you grow and run your business.

eBay Seller Capital financing can be used to help your business in a variety of ways, such as buying new inventory, investing in marketing initiatives, renting a retail space, or hiring staff.

How it works

eBay works with finance partner YouLend to provide eligible eBay sellers with financing. Through the eBay Seller Capital programme, YouLend, not eBay, can provide you with financing.

If your application is approved, financing up to £1 million by our finance partner YouLend may be available to you. The amount you're offered will depend on your business performance, business tenure and sales history. If your application with our finance partner YouLend is successful, the funds will be deposited into your designated bank account.

Applying for financing

If you're eligible for financing by YouLend, you may receive a personalised offer by email to apply for financing. You can also apply on the eBay Seller Capital page in Seller Hub. Here’s how:

  1. Select the Payments tab in Seller Hub.
  2. Select Seller Capital on the left-hand side.
  3. Select Apply now.
  4. Choose the financing amount and payment rate (a percentage of your gross daily sales).
  5. Confirm that your information is correct. If you need to update any details, go to your account settings - opens in new window or tab.
  6. Review your application and tick the boxes to accept YouLend's terms and conditions and privacy policy.
  7. Select Continue to submit your application.

Once you sign YouLend's financing agreement, they will review your application within 48 hours.

Tip
If you have any questions about your financing, or if you need to change any of your information, contact YouLend directly. To contact YouLend, email ebay@youlend.com or phone +44 (0)203 924 7643.

Financing

With eBay Seller Capital, you'll be provided with a lump sum of capital by our finance partner YouLend based on your daily eBay sales.

There are several reasons why you might want to choose eBay Seller Capital financing, including:

  • The fast application process with our finance partner YouLend means approval and financing will take less than 24 hours in most cases
  • Payments are calculated as a percentage of your daily gross eBay sales. On the days with low eBay sales, your payment will be lower
  • There's no origination fee, late penalties or other hidden fees

Tip
For FAQs and more information about how this programme works, take a look at our eBay Seller Capital - opens in new window or tab website.

Payments

Details of your payments, including when they will need to be made, can be found in your financing agreement with our finance partner YouLend.

Instead of making fixed monthly payments, you'll pay a fixed percentage of your daily gross sales on eBay. Your gross daily sales include taxes, postage costs and any other fees associated with your orders. Whenever you sell an item, payments from each completed order are credited to your available funds.

We calculate your daily payment using the payment percentage we received from YouLend. We'll then deduct payments from your available funds each day before sending payouts. Don't worry - we'll never deduct more than what you have available, regardless of your calculated payment amount.

Your payment is then automatically sent to your payment bank account. It usually takes less than 2 business days to complete this transfer.

Troubleshooting payments issues

If a payment didn't process, there are a few reasons why this may have happened:

  • No sales – If you haven't made any sales on a particular day, we won't remit any payments for that day
  • Negative account balance – If the balance in your Total funds or Available funds is negative, your payouts and payments will be blocked. If this is due to a transaction hold, your payouts and payments will resume once the holds are released. See our Payments on hold help page for more information
  • Payment dispute or Payout holds – If you have a Payment dispute hold or Payout hold related to registration, compliance or tax, your payments may be canceled. See our Payments on hold page for more information

If your payment issue still isn't resolved, we recommend contacting YouLend directly.

Fees

You won't be charged origination fees, late fees or early payment fees by YouLend. The only fee is a one-off, pre-agreed fee on the financing amount.

The terms of financing, including applicable fees, are set by YouLend and the details are outlined in your financing agreement. We recommend reviewing the terms and conditions of your financing agreement before agreeing to any financing.

If you have any questions about financing you've received through eBay Seller Capital, contact YouLend directly. To contact YouLend, email ebay@youlend.com or phone +44 (0)203 924 7643.
