Seller disclosures

If you're a business seller, you can create seller disclosures to provide buyers with important information about your items and take-back policies.

A seller disclosure provides buyers with essential information about the product. For example, if you sell batteries, your seller disclosure could contain specific compliance information.

Create a disclosure

Seller disclosures can be created and managed in the Account section of My eBay. Here's how to create disclosures on the eBay desktop site:

  1. Select My eBay.
  2. Select the Account tab.
  3. Go to Selling and select Seller disclosures.
  4. Select Create.
  5. Choose Seller disclosure.
  6. Enter the contents of your disclosure and select Save.

Keep in mind that the display name you enter will be shown to buyers when you add the disclosure to your listing.

You currently can't delete a disclosure, but you can edit existing disclosures by going to Seller disclosures - opens in new window or tab and selecting Edit next to the disclosure you need to update. When you edit a disclosure, your updates will automatically be applied to any listing you've added the disclosure to.

Tip
You can create up to 60 seller disclosures and there is a 15,000 character limit on each disclosure.

Add disclosures to listings

Once you've created your disclosures, you can add them to your listings. You can also choose to add a disclosure for listings in a specific country. Buyers will see a link to your disclosures below the Item description section of listings.

Here's how to add a disclosure when you're creating a listing using the new listing tool:

  1. Select Sell.
  2. Select Create listing, and then choose Single listing.
  3. Enter a title for your listing, then select Get started.
  4. Go to the Item disclosures section and select Show more.
  5. Select the toggle next to Add seller disclosures.
  6. Select the Default disclosures dropdown to choose a disclosure, or select Add disclosures for a specific country to choose a disclosure by country.

You can add up to 6 seller disclosures per listing. Keep in mind that default disclosures will be visible to buyers across all sites and country-specific disclosures will be visible to buyers only in that country.

Take-back policies

You can create a take-back policy to let buyers in the EU and UK know that you'll collect old or used items when they buy a new item from you.

If you sell to buyers in France and you haven't added a take-back policy to your listing, we'll add a default take-back policy to your listing to help you comply with French regulation.

Seller disclosures ensure you comply with the laws of the countries you're listing in.
