Seller Managed Services

It's easy to create and update a bulky rate table template for domestic bulky deliveries.

This template is currently available only on desktop under the section Postage preferences. It can be set up within a few minutes and added to your listings directly through the listing flow, business policies, or APIs.

Both delivery and assembly Seller Managed Services are managed by the seller. Please ensure you use a reliable and reputable carrier and service provider to carry out your services.

Here's how to create a rate table template for your seller managed services:

Find the rate table template in My eBay

  1. Go to Account settings and then Postage preferences.
  2. Find the option Use postage rate tables and select Edit.

Select bulky shipping and name your rate table

  1. Select Domestic Rate Table. (International bulky deliveries aren’t currently supported)
  2. Select Bulky postage item services from the Choose package type dropdown menu.
  3. Give your rate table a name.

Select your region, services, and cost

You have a range of options when selecting your region, service, and cost.

  1. For each region you sell in, you can select up to 4 service types to include in your rate table:
    • Regions include Mainland UK, excluding Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland, Scottish Islands, Scottish Highlands & Scilly Isles.
    • If you offer a nationwide service, you can select all regions at once.
  2. Specify the handling time, inclusive of delivery time and the cost of service.
    • Currently, you can’t combine delivery costs for multiple items, and each item will be priced separately.
    • At this time, you can’t offer varying times for each service that you offer.
Note: if no time is selected, the delivery time will default to 2-7 days.
  3. You can offer services from the following list:
    • Kerbside
    • Doorstep
    • Room of choice
    • Room of choice plus unpackaging
    • Room of choice and old item removal
    • Room of choice plus assembly
    • Room of choice plus assembly and unpackaging
    • Room of choice plus assembly and old item removal
    • Room of choice plus assembly, unpackaging and old item removal
  4. Go back to Business Policies, select the postage policy which reflects your bulky delivery goods and check the box underneath Delivery rate tables.
  5.  Select Save.

You can then attach your rate table to a listing in one of the following ways:

Listing Flow
  1. Select Edit all options under the Delivery section.
  2. Select Shipping cost type as Flat shipping.
  3. Select Domestic settings under the Domestic shipping section.
Note: Do not select Freight shipping otherwise the rate table will not be applied to your listing.
  4. Select the Shipping rate table option.
  5. Add the rate table you created from the dropdown menu to your listing.
  6. Select a default shipping option on the listing page. (This will be applied to buyers who fall out of regions you may have specified in the rate table.)
  7. This won't override any existing exclusions you have set.
  8. Once you’ve added a rate table to your listings, your seller preview will continue to show the default shipping option. You’ll see your new rate table on your live listings. We recommend reviewing your listings so you can confirm the services you offer are listed as expected.
Business policy

You can create a postage policy in your business policies which will include your bulky rate table. You can then attach a rate table to a number of listings by selecting the postage policy that reflects your bulky delivery goods and checking the box underneath Delivery rate tables. All related listings will be updated to this policy.

Using a third-party tool

If you manage your eBay listings through a third-party tool, make sure to only update your listings through the tool. If you update your listings on eBay directly your delivery rate table could be disabled. Check your provider's instructions for managing delivery policies and adding a rate table

API

You can also add delivery rate tables through the API at the listing level - opens in new window or tab or through business policies - opens in new window or tab. Do you use ChannelAdvisor, Linnworks, Frooition or Ad-Lister? Give them a call with any Seller Managed Services integration questions and they will be happy to support.

To get the service for bulky items displayed correctly, please create a rate table template and attach it to your corresponding listings. The template is currently available only on desktop.
