Since 2020 to 9 March 2024, I had temporary loss of gear from third to fourth as well as shudder. The faults occurred several months after the transmission was filled with a Dextron 3 labelled as backwards compatible on transmissions which use Dextron 2. Even though I drained out Dextron 3 and refilled twice with Dextron 2 to flush the system, the faults remained. 1 tube of Lube Gard fixed the issues in 15 miles. Stick with Dextron 2, if that is what is recommended, and add this product.
