    Surprisingly heavy duty!

    I was really surprised about the build of this device. Base is heavy cast iron and metal bar is about 20mm thick! It feels that 16" rim is almost too light for this as quite high force needs to be applied to tire before springs compress and rim can be centered. So clearly this is not those small ones for tabletop use, this requires positioning on flat floor. Whole device feels durable probably will be good for many years. Only downside seems to be that alignment of parts seem to effect on result so I have flat spot marked on floor and device is always assembled in same direction where bulls eye is adjusted to center. Also marked ring on bulls eye could be a bit smaller. Currently bubble will stay inside the ring even with 30 gram off balance and rest of the balancing needs to be done ...

    Disappointing experience

    Unfortunately the box looked like it had been stored in a wet basement as it was rather "mushy" and smelt of damp, the wheel balancer had spots of rust in various places to confirm this. To allow it to be sent the box was wrapped in black plastic to allow it to stay together.
