An utterly engrossing story of rampaging neo-Nazi skinheads that may well be one of the most disturbing films. It's intoxicating violence and willingness to suspend moral judgement on its hypnotic characters make the film complex. Emotionally powerful and never afraid to portray the ugly, destructive face of ignorance and prejudice, 'Romper Stomper' excites, disturbs, and boldly challenges the viewer. Winner of 3 Australian Institute Awards, including Best Actor (Russell Crowe), film critics have hailed Romper Stomper as one of the most brilliant, provocative and truly exciting motion pictures to appear on the screen.
A very hard hitting look at a group of Australian skinheads and there racist fight against( what they see) as there country being overtaken by the Asian community,Gooks as they call them.Lead by there leader Hando ( russel Crow ). This is a very violent and as you would expect very racist film.Crow plays a excellent part as Hando his big film acting debut. As does daniel Pollock as Davey..I would recomend anyone who watches this film to be very open minded as there is a lot of fighting and lots of racist insidents,,all in all a good film if taken in the right text....
OMG what a film. Used to have it on Video and played it to death. Great acting from Crowe in a scary kinda hidden psycho nutbag way. This violent drama would suit anyone who loved the following films, ID, Football Factory, Green Street, American History X, Scum etc.
A must see, very violent and graphic. But still worth watching. Russell crowe in one of his earliest roles. Just watch it !!!!!
