About this product

Product Information

In a secret supernatural battle that's been raging for over a century, the stakes have just been raised - and they're not wooden anymore. My master is the second oldest vampire in the world, she said. He's more powerful than you can imagine. Like how powerful? Like a God. Like that powerful. I don't believe in God. She smiled at him again, and this time Jamie saw the white fangs below her upper lip, and he shivered. You should, she said. You really should. When Jamie Carpenter's mother is kidnapped by strange creatures, he finds himself dragged into Department 19, the government's most secret agency. Fortunately for Jamie, Department 19 can provide the tools he needs to find his mother, and to kill the vampires who want him dead. But unfortunately for everyone, something much older is stirring, something even Department 19 can't stand up against...

  • Vampires, Frankenstein, and a secret British military department...

Fantastic book. I'm currently on the 2nd in the series of 5 and have already purchased up to book 4. The story is compelling with each different characters story arc being as interesting as each other, with no boring filler to slog through, everything is enjoyable. Will Hill does a fantastic job in feeding the reader just enough to keep you interested and reading, but doesn't give you all the answers so that you keep going. It's one of those books that draws you in, and by the time you look up at the clock, you've been reading for 2 hours. Just do yourself a favor and buy the 2nd book, 'The Rising' at the same time, that way you can keep going after you've finished the first one, and trust me, you'll want to keep going.
