The sequel to the racing smash THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS may not have Vin Diesel as its star, but it burns with even higher octane than its predecessor, and a lot less extraneous drama. Back in action is undercover cop Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) whose career has hit the skids since he let Diesel's character escape at the last film's end. He has sunk in status and is now a fringe dweller on the Miami street racing scene. A chance at redemption arrives when the fuzz recruits him to investigate Carter Vellone (Cole Hauser), a top-dog street racer with dangerous drug connections. O'Connor recruits his bickering childhood pal (model/singer Tyrese), now a nitro-burning ex-con from the Diesel school of toughness, to help him pull the bad guys to the curb with a tyre-spinning vengeance. John Singleton (BOYZ IN THE HOOD, HIGHER LEARNING) directed, and obviously had great fun delivering, a straight-up racing thriller that's free of the message-bearing pressure of being a John Singleton film. 2 FAST fairly roars off the screen with comic book exuberance and a cheerful disregard for anything that gets in the way of its forward momentum. Best of all is Tyrese, a natural, laid-back star he's not afraid to poke fun at his own shirtless model-boy image and amply compensates for the mighty Vin's absence. Rapper Ludacriss is also memorable as O'Connor's mechanic, as is model Devon Akoi as a cute female racer.

great film,loved car action,best i have seen for a while.
it was a gift for my grandson,he showed me a clip on U TUBE and said how much he liked it,i thought it was very good so i looked on ebay and ordered it straight away,at £2.99 inc P&P it was amazing value.We were not disappointed ,great film great car action,will look out for later films.john freeman

After "The Fast And The Furious" was released in 2001 it was going to take a lot to match it. "2 Fast 2 Furious" excels in this and every field. Since Brian O Connor let Dom Toretto escape at the end of the first film he has lost his job and dissapeared - racing with a clean attitude and travels his way to Mexico with a brand new Skyline. He seems now to have a habit of winning any NOS-filled race he enters. Then he is captured after one such race by the police and offered an ultimatum - jail or his record wiped clean along with unlikely parter Roman. Will he accept? The DVD features excellent picture and subtitle quality and the animated menus simply add to the racing. You can even choose which car the menu is based around. Fast cars, pretty girls, high speed chases, solid racing. What you were expecting maybe "Gone with the Wind"? This is a fun thing to watch suspend disbelief at the door and enjoy yourself for the time its on the screen. Reminded me a lot of classic car shows of the seventies(i. e. Starsky and Hutch, Dukes of Hazzard etc.) You want some serious drama go see something else. You want an entertaining 2 hours go see this.Fast cars, pretty girls, high speed chases, solid racing. After allowing fugitive Dominic Toretto to evade arrest in the first film, former LAPD officer Brian O'Conner finds himself on the run and leaves Los Angeles for Miami to start a new life. There, he makes new friends with Tej Parker (Ludacris), an ex-street racer, and Jimmy (Jin Auyeung), a well-known car tuner as well as Suki (Devon Aoki), also a street racer. Brian is now known by his street name "Bullet" due to his driving skills and his modified silver Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. He competes with fellow street racers in high stakes races to win money using the skills he learned as a member of Toretto's now disbanded crew. One night after winning a race, he is caught by U.S. Customs agents after his car is disabled by the fictional grappling hook-shaped ESD (Electronic System Disabler) ... The operation involves his street racing background, but seeing that neither Customs nor the FBI have a convincing racer to be his partner, Brian tells Bilkins he will select a partner of his own. Brian and Bilkins travel to Barstow, California, to watch a demolition derby. There, they meet up with local champion Roman "Rome" Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), a former friend of Brian who had served jail time and is on house arrest. Their reunion starts with a fist fight until Brian convinces Rome to join him on the mission in exchange for his crimes pardoned and his ankle monitor removed. They return to Miami, where they are briefed on their mission - which is to go undercover as street racers and participate in a money laundering run for Carter Verone, (Cole Hauser) a ruthless Argentian drug lord. They are assisted by Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes), a female undercover U.S. Customs agent who liaisons as Carter's love interest. For their mission, Brian and Rome are issued two modified cars - a yellow Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII and a purple Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS Spyder, respectively. The duo participate in an audition race across Miami to recover a package inside an impounded Ferrari 360 Spider and deliver it to Verone, not knowing that their cars are equipped with tracking devices that give Markham's squad their locations. Upon arriving at the site of the Ferrari and acquiring the package, they are cornered by Markham and his squad, who think they are fleeing from the mission. Rome opens fire at the squad before the duo make their escape and head for Verone's mansion. After being hired by Verone as his drivers, the duo is going to a Customs/FBI hideout, where Roman confronts Markham over the latter's interference with the mission. After the situation is cooled down, Brian tells Bilkins and Markham that Verone plans to smuggle the money into his private jet and fly off, but also suspects something wrong with Monica's role in the mission. The duo then head to Tej's garage, where they learn about the tracking devices in their cars and that they are also being tailed by Verone's henchmen Enrique (Mo Gallini) and Roberto (Roberto Sanchez). That night, Brian and Rome meet up with Verone at his night club, where Verone tortures Detective Whitworth (Mark Boone, Jr.) into giving him a 15-minute window to keep the police away from their laundering run.
