wonder Woman Complete Season Three (DVD)
The four disc set is a compilation of the final TV series. It is quite different to most of the more recently made superhero/ine cinema films in that the costume of the chief protagonist is modelled on the actual costume design shown in the graphic comics whilst modern films in this heroic genre apparently dismiss the original styles of characters' colourful dress in favour of coverall costumes made of sorbo and black plastic (it seems that one reason for the delay of the projected new Wonder Woman film is disagreement about the costume to be worn). Furthermore these DVD films are largely shot in daylight so that viewers can clearly see all of the action instead in the current style of shooting action sequences in gloom and semi-darkness. Lynda Carter has the outstanding physical qualifications required for the role; though she cannot be classed as an outstanding actress she does have a variety of facial expressions. These stories are all-action episodes made in the best heroic tradition where the heroine has weaknesses that allow her to suffer in the best cliff-hanger style but of course the villains always get their come-uppance in the end. It is about the best quality of story material and action that you can expect from a made-for-TV series. This is an excellent set of DVD's for those who like this kind of DVD. It is a must if potential buyers happen already to be Wonder Woman comic fans. I particulaly admired two of Wonder Woman's most noticeable assets, those red boots that have high heels in closeup shots but which miraculously transform to flat-soled boots when she is running.

She's a Wonder... fantastic final season!
What you have to love about Wonder Woman 30 years on is it's datedness, but however dated the content might be it never fails to deliver an interesting storyline to its fans. Even in it's third and final season it still manages to keep the viewer amused and tuned in, unlike other Sci Fi series which become stale after a few seasons, leaving the viewer wondering a) why the producers bothered to make it in the first place and b) why they are bothering to watch it. Season three offers the fun and 'wonder' of the first two and Wonder Woman fans will not be disappointed. What's not to like about Wonder Woman? In this series Lynda Carter really found her feet with the character and made her totaly believable, getting a little more feisty than series 1 and 2 and also injecting a little more dry humour into the character. Ok so by todays standards the plots are a little weak and cheesy but we don't care because we love her. There is also a wonderful commentry by the lady herself for My Teanage Idol Is Missing and a fascinating documentry also featuring Ms Carter. A gem.What's not to like about Wonder Woman?
