  • Brilliant introduction to James Bond

Great book but more suitable for older teens than the younger age range stated. I'm in my 40s and found parts of the book quite grim. I read the series out of order so I was pleased I had could finally read this. I'm not sure if I would have read the others if I had read this one first. Personally I think the series gets better but you need this to set the background and meet some of the characters who appear later.

  • Good book but not suitable for nervous 11 year old.

I bought this for my 11year old grandson, but read it first to see if it was suitable. I enjoyed reading it myself, but decided it was too scary for him, so will keep it for a year or so when I feel he won't be worried about it.
