I don't usually enjoy teen fiction, I tend to find them far too self-absorbed and hard to believe. However this book is the exception: it's fantastically well-written by a man I have great respect for and I must say that I cried for a good half of the book. It sounds from the blurb like any other teen novel but it's so much more: the characters are completely believable and the themes of death and love and existence are dealt with in a very intelligent way that doesn't patronise the reader. I haven't read his other work but I will after this, I would also recommend checking out John Green on Youtube because he's a very entertaining and intelligent guy - his channel is 'Vlogbrothers'. My daughter has struggled to read books all the way through, but this one captured her attention and she read it every day until she had finished it. That's how good it is.
